Most Dangerous Airports in the World

Lukla Airport Nepal

Since Lukla Nepal is the place most people start their Mount Everest trek, this Himalayan strip gets quite a bit of traffic--mostly to and from Kathmandu.

Sirens inform folks for miles when an airplane is landing here, and as you would suspect, only helicopters and Twin Otter type planes can handle the 2,000 foot, uphill runway that is fenced off at the end, to protect you from the edge of a mountain cliff.

Kansai International Airport

Osaka, Japan

Land is a scarce resource in Japan, so engineers headed roughly 3 miles offshore into Osaka Bay to build this colossal structure. Work on the manmade island started in 1987, and by 1994 jumbo jets were touching down. Travelers can get from the airport to the main island of Honshu via car, railroad or even a high-speed ferry.

Gibraltar Airport

Between Morocco and Spain sits the tiny British territory of Gibraltar. Construction of the airport dates back to World War II, and it continues to serve as a base for the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force, though commercial flights land on a daily basis.

Madeira International Airport

Madeira, Portugal

Madeira is a small island far off the coast of Portugal, which makes an airport that is capable of landing commercial-size aircraft vital to its development. This airport's original runway was only about 5000 feet long, posing a huge risk to even the most experienced pilots and limiting imports and tourism.

Ice Runway

Antarctica

The Ice Runway is one of three major airstrips used to haul supplies and researchers to Antarctica's McMurdo Station. As its name implies, there are no paved runways here—just long stretches of ice and snow that are meticulously groomed.

There is no shortage of space on the Ice Runway, so super-size aircraft like the C-130 Hercules and the C-17 Globemaster III can land with relative ease. The real challenge is making sure that the weight of the aircraft and cargo doesn't bust the ice or get the plane stuck in soft snow. As the ice of the runway begins to break up, planes are redirected to Pegasus Field or Williams Field, the two other airstrips servicing the continent.

Congonhas Airport

Sao Paulo, Brazil

Most major cities have an airport, but rarely are they built just 5 miles from the city center, especially in metropolises like Sao Paulo. Congonhas' close proximity to downtown can be attributed in part to the fact that it was completed in 1936, with the city experiencing rapid development in the following decades.

Courchevel International Airport

Courchevel, France

Getting to the iconic ski resort of Courchevel requires navigating the formidable French Alps before making a hair-raising landing at Courchevel International Airport. The runway is about 1700 feet long, but the real surprise is the large hill toward the middle of the strip.

Princess Juliana International Airport

Simpson Bay, Saint Maarten

Nothing says fun in the sun like roaring engines and the smell of jet exhaust. Landing on this Caribbean island forces pilots to fly over a small strip of beach, clear a decent-size fence and pass over a road just before hitting the runway.

Svalbard Airport

Svalbard, Norway

Svalbard is a cluster of Norwegian islands sitting in the Arctic Ocean. While there are three airports within the archipelago, two of which are used mainly to transport miners, Svalbard Airport is open to commercial travel, making it the world's northernmost airport that tourists can book tickets to.

Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport

Saba, Netherlands Antilles

Getting to this paradise-like island can be a bit distressing thanks to a 1300-foot-long runway, slightly longer than most aircraft carrier runways.

Girl From Pune Wins Google's Doodle Contest

Gayatri Ketharaman, a 15-year-old girl, from Pune won Doodle4Google contest for 2013 with a doodle titled 'Sky's The Limit for Indian Women'. The winning doodle will feature on Google India's homepage on November 14.

Google holds the doodle contest for school kids in India every year on a particular theme and features the winning entry on its homepage on Children's Day. For this year, the theme was 'celebrating the Indian women'. Google India managing director Rajan Anandan said the company received over 1.5 lakh entries this year.

Gayatri, currently a student of class 10 at the Bishop's Co-Ed School in Pune, has been taking part in the contest for last four years. She came close to winning in 2011 when her doodle on 'India's gift to the world' was among the shortlisted entries. But this year she finally succeeded with a doodle that celebrates the Indian woman and her life.

"It took me around a week to complete the doodle once I started working on it. But before that I spend several weeks thinking about the theme and how best I can represent the ideas I had in my mind about Indian women," Gayatri told TOI. "My doodle attempts to show different qualities of Indian women."

The doodle, which has to resemble the word Google, starts with a dancing woman who is arched to represent G. Gayatri says that the figure represents the grace and feminine side of Indian women. In place of two Os, Gayatri has used one rupee coin and a symbol for home, representing how Indian women take care of work as well as home. In place of G, there are earth and moon, showing that the Indian women are go-getters. In place of L, there is a woman holding a kid, showing caring nature of Indian women and in place of E, there is a police cap, which shows that when required Indian women can wear different hats and can be tough and brave.

This year the Doodle4Google contest had three categories. Category one was for students from class 1 to 3, category two was for students from class 4 to 6 and category three was for students from class 7 to 10. The category one was won by Madhuram Vatsal from Lucknow, category two was won by Binita Biswajeeta from Balasore and the category three was won by Akash Shetty from Mangalore. Gayatri was the overall winner.

Google said that before deciding the winners, it had selected 12 finalists. All of them have been given a Chromebook as well as a few other prizes.

"The entries this year have come from across the country which is a clear indication that we are well underway to taking the internet to the next billion," said Anandan.

Google often features doodles on its homepage to mark important moments like holiday or historical event. It also often pays homage to scientists, inventors and other notable persons on its homepage through dedicated doodles.

What Happens if u Run 2 Antivirus in Your System ?

Many of you might have a question about having 2 antivirus running in a system. Many might think this will increase your system's security when you install 2 antivirus back to back into your system. The basic function of an antivirus is to block external agents running on your pc.If both the av have monitoring enabled, they fight over resources causing a loss of performance of your system. Also in rare cases it can cause crashes if the real time monitoring is going for the same resource at the same time. Also antivirus software generally runs at the hightly trusted kernel level of the operating system, creating a potential risk for the system. But 2 Security tools have to be enabled in your system,Antivirus and a firewall.Next time don't try to install 2 antivirus in your system.Select a better antivirus from the list.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 firmware leaked – build I9300XXUGMJ9

Following the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 2, Android 4.3 firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S3 has also made its way online and is available for download, unofficially of course.

This is the first Android 4.3 leak for the Galaxy S3, build version I9300XXUGMJ9, and while stable, is still a test build and will probably have a few bugs. According to SamMobile, some of the changes include a complete overhaul of the UI, making it similar to what can be seen on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, with the Settings app also featuring a new tabbed interface. Unfortunately, the original launcher and widgets are still being used, and Samsung Knox, which is an expected feature with the final release, is yet to be implemented in this version. Of course, since this is a test build, features and more UI changes may be available in future leaks and the final, official release.

Sprint's 'Spark' technology enables cellular data speeds of up to 60Mbps

Sprint claims it has developed a new wireless technology that could allow the carrier to surpass the wireless data speeds of its rivals. Dubbed Sprint Spark, the "super-high-

speed" currently reaches peak rates of 50 to 60Mbps, but Sprint insists that number will grow as the technology matures. In fact, to illustrate the progress it's making on that

front, Sprint today demonstrated 1Gbps over-the-air speeds at one of its labs.

Unfortunately existing smartphones won't be able to take advantage of Sprint Spark; you'll need tri-band hardware, designed to utilize all of Sprint's spectrum bands on one

device, to achieve the higher speeds. The first of those — from HTC, LG and Samsung — are due to arrive starting in November. Sprint claims these devices will be able to

seamlessly hand off between 800MHz, 1.9GHz and 2.5GH frequencies, providing a continuous high-speed data session without interruptions or slowdowns.

Chinese Scientists Developed Li-Fi Technology; Internet through Lightbulbs

Scientists from Fudan University, Shanghai successfully developed Li-Fi Technology-a new cheaper way of getting connected to internet by using signals sent through light bulbs instead of radio frequencies as in ‘Wi-Fi’.

According to the School of Information Science and Technology at Fudan University, researchers modulated Internet signals to a 1watt LED lamp. Under the light, four computers were able to access the Internet.

About Li-Fi Technology

The LED-based alternative to Wi-Fi, dubbed Li-Fi, or Light Fidelity, refers to a type of visible light communication technology that delivers a networked, mobile, high-speed communication solution in a similar manner to Wi-Fi.

As with radio waves, light is also a type of electromagnetic wave. The basic rule for sending and receiving Internet signals via light waves is similar to that for radio waves. Light-emitting diodes are switched on and off much faster than the eye can detect, which makes the light source appear to be continuous.

By adding a microchip to an LED bulb to control on and off switching, the data will flow as binary code: an on LED is a logical "1" while when off it is a logical "0".

The term Li-Fi was coined by Harald Haas from the University of Edinburgh in the UK and refers to a type of visible light communication technology that delivers a networked, mobile, high-speed communication solution in a similar manner as Wi-Fi.

Sample Li-Fi kits will be on display at the China International Industry Fair that will kick off on 5 November 2013 in Shanghai.

What is a CAPTCHA and How Does It Work

CAPTCHA, an acronym that stands for Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart is a type of test to ensure that the response is generated by a human rather than a
computer. The most common form of CAPTCHA is an image of several distorted letters. The main reason behind using captchas is that it avoids bots from causing harm to the sites by working as per
instructions. The CAPTCHA test helps identify which users are real human beings and which ones are computer programs. One interesting thing about CAPTCHA tests is that the people who design the tests aren't always upset when their tests fail. That's because for a CAPTCHA test to fail, someone has to find a way to teach a computer how to solve the test. In other words, every CAPTCHA failure is really an advance in artificial intelligence.
CAPTCHAs can prevent bots from passing the test thus ensuring security to the system.A Bot cannot be programmed to pass a captcha, since it varies randomly and its unable to predict its type.Captchas
are generally used by sites that has many traffic which the hackers usually target.Inorder for a bot to pass the captcha test,it has to be programmed with an algorithm that executes the way we humans
think which is impossible at the moment. Therefore Captcha system can control spams.

A Captcha work by generating gifs of scrambled words that can be passed only by human intelligence. There are also .mp3 type voice recordings for users who do not like captcha.

Unknown Facts about Heath Ledger as Joker

Ledger's interpretation of The Joker's appearance was primarily based on the chaotic, disheveled look of punk rocker Sid Vicious combined with the psychotic mannerisms of Malcolm McDowell's character, Alex De Large, from A Clockwork Orange.
Christopher Nolan and his co-writers, Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer, made the decision very early on not to explore The Joker's origins. This was so the character could be presented as an "absolute"
The Joker make-up was composed of three pieces of stamped silicone, which took less than an hour to apply to Heath Ledger on each day of shooting. Ledger described it as "new technology which is much quicker to apply than regular prosthetics"; he felt he was not wearing any make-up at all.
Once she knew Heath Ledger had been cast as The Joker, costume designer Lindy Hemming based the character's attire off of an eclectic line-up of clothing styles, ranging from Vivienne Westwood to John Lydon to Iggy Pop to Pete Doherty to Alexander McQueen. Hemming's aim was to modify The Joker's familiar appearance with "a younger, trendier look", in order to represent Ledger's generation.
As the Joker (Heath Ledger) waits quietly alone in jail after having been arrested by Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman), Mayor Garcia (Nestor Carbonell) shows up to look over Gotham's latest scourge. While there he also promotes Gordon to the position of Commissioner. As the officers in the room applaud the announcement Ledger begins, unscripted, to slowly clap - never changing his facial expression. It was just a simple improvisation but one that was unsettling and darkly brilliant.
Originally, the Joker (Heath Ledger) was supposed to walk down the street while the explosion at the hospital began, get on the school bus during the scripted pause, and the bus would drive away while the explosion finished. However, Ledger stopped walking during the pause and in a moment of improvisation began fidgeting with the remote detonator in a very Joker-esque manner - bringing a slight amount of dark humor to what would have just been a serious scene.
The Joker's face paint was reportedly designed by Heath Ledger himself, who used white clown makeup and cosmetics from a drugstore. Once his design was approved, the makeup team was responsible for replicating the look each day for filming.
The Joker's distinctive tongue flip grew out of Heath Ledger's own habit of doing that.
During the chase scene, when the Joker takes over driving the semi after his driver is killed, the bullet holes on the windshield form a smiley face.
In the Italian version of Batman, Jack Nicholson's voice was dubbed by actor Giancarlo Giannini. In this movie, Heath Ledger was voiced by Giannini's son Adriano Giannini, with the result that Italian audience felt a connection between the two Jokers since the voices are very similar.
In their face to face confrontations, neither Batman nor Joker refer to one another by name.
Many cast members in this film have worked with the siblings of other cast members. Heath Ledger had previously worked with Jake Gyllenhaal in Brokeback Mountain. Maggie Gyllenhaal had worked with Julia Roberts in Mona Lisa Smile, as had Aaron Eckhart in Erin Brockovich.
Trouble arose during a PR campaign before the movie's release, when a website related to the film sent out several cakes purportedly from The Joker, containing a cell phone inside which made the cake vibrate, and had wires sticking out, making the cake look like a bomb. One such news station which received one of the cakes, believed it to be an actual terrorist act, and the entire building had to be evacuated.
When Harvey Dent is being transferred, his holding vehicle is attacked by The Joker with various guns. One gun is an RPG and a SWAT member is heard asking if it is a bazooka - which is a signature weapon of The Joker's girlfriend/partner in crime - Harley Quinn.
The Joker (Heath Ledger) falling from the Prewitt building mirrors a scene from the very first Joker story in 'Batman' #1 (Spring, 1940) in which the Joker falls from a penthouse scaffolding, but is caught by the Batman.

The Joker's mask during the initial bank robbery is almost exactly the same as the mask worn by Cesar Romero when hijacking a performance of Pagliacci in the original TV series.
Paul Bettany, Lachy Hulme, Adrien Brody, Steve Carell and Robin Williams all publicly expressed interest in playing the Joker, little knowing that Christopher Nolan always had Heath Ledger in mind.
While the film is dedicated to Heath Ledger, it also bears a dedication to Conway Wickliffe, a stuntman who was killed when the car he was driving crashed.
In a show of respect for the late Heath Ledger and his superb performance in “The Dark Knight,” the Joker is never mentioned in “The Dark Knight Rises.
Michael Caine (Alfred) had never seen Heath Ledger’s Joker before filming the scene where the Joker crashes Bruce Wayne’s party (the part where he throws Rachel out the window). Ledger scared Caine so much that he actually forgot his lines from the script.
he Joker leaves a trail of bodies a mile long in “The Dark Knight,” but surprisingly he never looks at them. In fact, he only ever sets eyes on three of his victims (the pencil guy, a cop by his semi-truck and another cop in the hospital).
Heath Ledger is the youngest actor to have played the Joker.
In an interview, Heath Ledger said that the Joker was his favorite role.
During the hospital scene, when The Joker is dressed as a nurse, his name tag reads Matilda, after Heath Ledger's daughter Matilda Ledger.
In Batman Batman uses the grapple gun on the Joker, causing him to fall to his death. In this film, Batman also uses the grapple gun on the Joker, this time to save him from falling.
The infamous interrogation scene originally ended with Batman, after getting the information he needs from the Joker and dropping him on the ground, quickly kicking the Joker in the head right before he leaves to save Rachel, almost as an afterthought. However, this part was removed in editing because director Christopher Nolan felt the action seemed "a little too petulant for Batman".

Microsoft ships tool to block IE11 on Windows 7

Microsoft on Friday shipped a toolkit to block Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) from automatically installing on Windows 7 PCs, a signal that the new browser will release in the next few weeks.

The IE11 Blocker Toolkit is aimed at businesses that want to keep employees on an older edition of IE. Its tools include a script that can be run locally, as well as an administrative template IT administrators can use to block IE11 through Group Policy settings.

The toolkit blocks automatic upgrading of older editions of Internet Explorer to IE11 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 through the operating systems' built-in Automatic Update service. Companies that rely on Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or System Center 2012 do not need the toolkit since they can manage the deployment of IE11 using those tools.
